How
do I upgrade to another edition of SkyTools?
Upgrade
pricing is the difference in price between the editions, plus
shipping if you order an upgrade with media (CD/Flash-Drive). You
will be assigned a new serial number when you upgrade. Your old
serial number will no longer be active. The upgrade process is
initiated from within SkyTools itself via the About SkyTools
dialog in the Starter Edition or the SkyTools Preferences
dialog in the Standard Edition.
Can
I return SkyTools for a refund?
The
Standard and Professional Editions can be returned for a full
refund (less shipping) within 30 days of purchase. If you
purchased media (CD/Flash-Drive), the media must be returned to us to qualify for
a refund. To return your SkyTools please contact
us.
Can
I Install SkyTools on more than one computer?
Our
software license allows you to install SkyTools on multiple
computers as long as it is for your own use. SkyTools has a Sync
function to easily transfer data from one computer to another.
How
does purchasing SkyTools Standard and Pro Editions via Download
work?
Once
your payment has been processed you will be taken to a page with
your license information and a link to download the program
from. This same information will also be emailed to the email
address you provided for your purchase. Save or print this email
because this information will be required should you need to
re-install SkyTools later.
Save
the downloaded setup file to your hard drive. Run the setup file
to install SkyTools. During the installation you will be asked
for the email address you provided at the time of purchase and
the serial number assigned to you. This information must be
entered exactly as it appears.
If
your purchased the Professional Edition you will be
prompted to download and install the Extended Star Data
when you start SkyTools for the first time. The Extended Star
Data contains 522 million stars down to 20th magnitude. This is
a large 3.3 GB download and may take more than an hour even on a
fast internet connection. You may download and install this
database at a later time via the Data Installation tab of
the SkyTools Preferences dialog, opened via a button on
the planner button bar.
How
does purchasing SkyTools Starter Edition work?
The
Starter Edition is available by download only. You may download
the trial before you
purchase. The full features can be unlocked from the trial via a
purchased serial number, obtained via our order
page. Once your payment has been processed you will be taken
to a page with your license information. A link to
download the program is provided, but you do not need to
re-install if you already have the trial. This same information
will also be emailed to the email address you provided for your
purchase. Save or print this email because this information will
be required should you need to re-install SkyTools later.

What
payment options does Skyhound offer?
Download
transactions are handled by PayPal, but a PayPal account is
not necessary. PayPal accepts major credit cards without the
need of a PayPal account. For Media orders you may pay via
PayPal or Amazon Payments. They both accept major
credit cards.
Can
I try SkyTools before I buy?
The
Starter Edition is available as a free
trial. Although very simple, this edition can give you a
good idea of what SkyTools is all about and how it works in practice.
How
do I register the SkyTools Standard and Pro Editions?
Start
SkyTools and click the SkyTools Preferences button on the
planner button bar. Click the Register SkyTools button and enter
your registration information. Registering SkyTools will make
you eligible for half-price upgrades to future versions of
SkyTools.
