What to do if the previous version is still reported after updating
Be sure that you did not have SkyTools running when you installed the update. If you did, close SkyTools and reinstall the update.
Solution 1: A bug in the InstallShield Installer on the SkyTools 2 CDROM may cause the system to re-install the previous SkyTools version after the update when the shortcut that was placed on the desktop by the installer is used after the update. To solve this problem, delete the desktop shortcut. You can create a new shortcut if you like. Then re-install the update.
Solution 2: The installer sometimes refuses to overwrite the skytools.exe program file. When this happens the installation will appear to have completed successfully but when you run the program it will still report the previous version. This can occur if the skytools.exe file (or it's date/time) has been altered in any way since the original installation. Sometimes this is the result of of copying files from one computer to another, restoring the skytools.exe file from a system backup, or if you installed a test or debugging version of SkyTools.
The solution is to delete the following files from your SkyTools 2 directory:
skytools.exe
suppdb.exe
updater.exe
Then reinstall the update. Afterward the program should correctly report the latest version.
