to SkyTools 3.1 Problems
For those
already running SkyTools version 3.1 There is a serious problem with version 3.1. We tested version 3.1 for weeks and it was very solid.
We made what should have been an innocuous update to an external
3rd party library just days before we released it. This change
was tested in the areas that were directly affected (reading and displaying FITS images). Unfortunately there was a
unexpected conflict with certain file functions that are used to import data via stx files and, most unfortunately, to automatically update the program.
In order to solve these (and likely other) problems you must
update manually to version 3.1b. Note: those running any version previous to 3.1 can update normally via the auto-update function.
How
to Update Manually
To
update manually download the update file and run it.
Follow these steps:

Download the update file from here:
http://skyhound.com/dl/st3/stupdate.exe
(save the file in a location where you can find it again)

Close SkyTools
-
Run the update file you have downloaded (stupdate3.exe)
