NGC
7354 is a small, relatively bright planetary nebula in Cepheus that is
often overlooked.
I was a bit surprised
that NGC 7354 was obvious in my 18-inch f/4.5 at 94x, easily seen and large
enough to discern that it is non stellar. At 260x it appeared as
as a very round "thick" smoke ring with a small hole in the middle.
This planetary is bright enough to sustain 430x, but little more detail
was discerned. A very nice little gem!
The field in an 8-inch f/10 at 60x. North is down and east is to the right. |
